Second day in Phuket started early. It was island hopping day, our actual main agenda.
Our van that would bring us to the boat tour jetty came as early as 7.30am. Once there, the boat tour company called V.R Family Travel & Tour held a short briefing covering overall tour itinerary and safety hazard and then we were off. As mentioned in last post, this tour costs THB1000 per person which covers boat ride to 3 islands and lunch.

Snorkeling at Maiton Island
The first stop was Maiton Island for 20-minute snorkeling. Great water condition; sea urchins were far down at the base and rocks, clear water but not so many fish.

Maya Bay and Viking Cave
After that we circled Maya Bay which was closed for coral conservation. That’s where the movie The Beach was filmed. Close by is the Viking Cave where they found paintings resembling Scandinavian drakkar.

Boat ride from one island to another takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour and suddenly it was lunch time.
We stopped at Phi Phi Island for lunch which was included in the tour package. The menu is prepared by a Halal restaurant and apparently this is where most boat tours go for lunch.

Kai Island
45 minutes of really super duper bumpy boat ride later, we reached Kai Island from Phi Phi Island. This time for chilling. It’s a small island with bars and restaurants. You can grab some drinks here or just chill in the sun, dip in the water or snorkel from the beach to deeper area. We took the chance to play with the drone and see the amazing view of this small island from above. Truly amazing.

By 5pm we were already back at the jetty and then the hostel. Spent our time playing in the pool until night time.
Phuket Weekend Night Market
As suggested by our tour guide from the boat tour, we made our way via hip disco tuktuk to Old Town Phuket for the Weekend Night Market.

Basically all the street food that you wish or even wanted to try is here, including some bugs if you are into that stuff. Cheap and tasty. Even had our dinner here.
Night Drinks
We settled for late night drinks at a nearby stall, instead of opting for pubs or clubs with loud music. Stalls like this reminds me of those in Cambodia; makeshift tuktuk cum bar.
In general, drinks are sold at the price range of THB99 to THB120. Opt for virgins if you don’t drink alcohol, from the variety they offer.
We substituted loud music with quality loud discussions and games. And drinks, of course.

Final Day: Free and Easy
By the final day, we believe we had all the fun we wanted. Check out was at 12pm and like most hostels, Lub D Phuket Patong provides a secured room to store our bags.
Foot Massage
One cannot simply leave Phuket or Thailand in general without massage session. What a great way to take this opportunity to sit back and reflect on how the trip has turned out.
Foot massage costs THB180 per hour. I found that it is much more fun when doing this with friends, looking at each other holding in the pain and also some moans!
Some of our entourage went off somewhere else in search of souvenirs and last minute shopping. Both of us were just walking around and stopped for coffee.
Headed to the Airport after repacking our stuff at the hostel and by midnight, we reached our home soil Kuala Lumpur.
END OF PART 2 OF 2.
