Travel Stories : Ladakh (Part 2)

I am a ‘tag-along traveller’.

Whenever you got a call from a friend asking you to go on a trip..YOU JUST GO! Stop worrying about work and money. Because your desk work will never be done. And money is never enough. Take a break and live life. #YOLO

I answered that call and had the best time of my life. So, thanks Afiqah for that random call :)

DAY 2 : FREE AND EASY

9/ Leh Local Sightseeing + Acclimatization

We started our trip to Leh – Ladakh by landing at Leh Airport during the morning hours. Then, headed to our hotel, make ourselves comfortable and stay put for the day.

Acclimatization is VERY important part of building Ladakh itinerary. Anyone could get seriously affected by Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

They say that even the most fit person gets affected – Well im not fit but I DID GOT AMS (which I will write about in Part 4)!

After a nice nap time, we proceed for sightseeing at Leh city. Simple and just nice.

The city is pretty straight forward. Simple but perfect in its own way.

10/ Fewer Things, Fuller Life

The people of Leh are very friendly. While some of them are quite shy around tourists, we still feel very welcomed. The landscape, old houses and narrow streets were beautiful. The area was pretty remote though.

Some comforts have to be sacrificed. For instance, they don’t have enough power supply.

Electric is out for many hours during the day. Which means they don’t have heater. That is living in average temperature of 6 degree Celsius daily, with no heater for shower and sleeping. Man.. it was freezing cold!

Until now, I am still amazed at their simple lifestyle yet they looked very contented (happy). Sometimes I wish life was simpler.
